These healthy and yummy candies are made from dried fruits. They’re full of
nutrients and vitamins, and will boost your energy levels. This recipe is very
easy yet interesting, and it could be a fun project to do with your kids. This
is also a great way to make them eat healthy.
There are many variations to this
recipe. For instance, instead of dark chocolate you can also use milk chocolate
or white chocolate. In order to make more colorful apricot candies, just add some
food colorant in the melted white chocolate before the dipping the apricots in
it.
Ingredients:
20 dried apricots
20 dried apricots
3.5 oz (100 g) dark
chocolate (I added some white chocolate as well)
4.4 oz (125 g) marzipan
Directions:
- Open each dried apricot. Take small amounts of marzipan and stuff the apricots
with it. Make sure that there's not too much stuffing so that the apricots can
be closed again.
- In a medium bowl
break the chocolate into pieces. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or using a
double boiler (bring water to boil in a saucepan, place the bowl with chocolate
in it on top, let the chocolate melt).
- Dip the stuffed
apricots in chocolate and place them on a surface lined with parchment paper.
At this point you can sprinkle something on top of the chocolate dipped
apricots, for example crushed nuts or coconut flakes. Set to cool until the
chocolate hardens.
