Chocolate Bowls

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and we need a sweet recipe! I suggest you surprise your loved ones and friends with this romantic dessert. I found this idea on pinterest.com (unstitchedblog.com).

In order to make 4 chocolate cups you will need about 3.5 oz (100 g) of melted chocolate.

Bring water to boil in a small casserole. On top of the casserole place a bowl with chocolate pieces and wait for them to melt. While the chocolate is melting, do not forget to stir. You can also melt the chocolate pieces in a microwave. Blow up the balloons. Dip each balloon in the melted chocolate and gently twirl it around. Be sure not to make the balloon touch the walls of the bowl (it may pop otherwise). Place the chocolate balloon on a smooth surface covered with parchment paper and let it cool.
Repeat the same steps with the other balloons to make more cups. Do not touch the balloons for a couple of hours until the chocolate has completely hardened.

After the chocolate has cooled and hardened, gently pierce the balloon and remove it from the chocolate. You will be left with a nice looking chocolate cup. This is the point where you can get really creative! You can fill the cups with almost anything.
I put some Smarties (you can also use M&M’s, Skittles, gummy bears, etc) and topped with some raspberry sorbet. Instead of ice cream or sorbet you can put some whipped cream, chocolate mousse, berries or pieces of fruit. Don’t forget to drizzle some chocolate or caramel sauce on top!

Tip: after the chocolate has hardened on the balloon, you can dip it in chocolate one more time in order to make the cup thicker.
